What personal data do we process?

We only process personal data to the extent necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement. We strive to process as little personal data as possible.

Cookie data, to the extent you have given permission for this via the cookie settings.

Know Your Lp(a) does not intend to collect medical or other special personal data. We request that you do not share medical or sensitive information through free-text fields or contact forms. If you do share medical information, we will only process that data to the extent necessary to process your message or comply with legal obligations.

We process personal data for the purposes listed below and on the basis of the grounds stated in the GDPR.

3.1. Contact and handling questions

Purpose: To answer questions you ask us via email or contact form.

Facts: 

Name, email address, content of your message and any attachments.

Foundation:

Legitimate interest to communicate with you and answer your question.

Retention period:

In principle, up to a maximum of 24 months after the last correspondence, unless a longer retention period is necessary for handling a dispute or legal obligation.

3.2. Security and technical management of the website

Purpose: To secure the website, prevent misuse and resolve malfunctions.

Data: IP address, log data, device and browser information.

Basis: Legitimate interest to keep the website safe and available.

Retention period: In principle up to a maximum of 12 months, unless an incident gives rise to longer retention.

3.3. Website analysis and improvement

Purpose: To measure and improve the use of the website.

Facts:

Online identifiers and usage data via cookies or similar technologies.

Foundation:

Consent, to the extent that analytical cookies or similar techniques are used that require consent.

Retention period:

In accordance with the retention periods in the cookie settings or the Cookie Policy.

If applicable.

Goal:

Sending updates or a newsletter when you subscribe to it.

Data: Email address and name (if applicable).

Foundation:

Consent or legitimate interest, depending on the situation.

Retention period:

Until unsubscribe or a maximum of 24 months after the last interaction.

Pharmacovigilance and adverse event reporting

This website is not intended for reporting side effects, safety issues or adverse events related to medicines.

We request that you do not provide such information through this website.

If we do receive a report that potentially concerns a side effect or safety issue, we may need to process this information in a limited manner to assess whether a legal reporting obligation applies. If so, we can forward the information to the designated (national) reporting authorities or, if relevant, to an involved marketing authorization holder.

We do not process more data than necessary and apply appropriate security measures. We also advise you to always report suspected adverse reactions via the designated national reporting systems or through a healthcare provider.

We only share personal data when necessary.

If suppliers process personal data outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. We will provide further information on this upon request.
